Rosenthal: Twins win bidding for Nishioka

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Minnesota Twins have won the bidding for Chiba Lotte shortstop Tsuyoshi Nishioka.

Twinkie Town has an update on Nishioka, who is 26 years old and was posted by Chiba Lotte for bidding by major league teams.

The Twins now have thirty days to negotiate a contract with Nishioka.

Nishioka is fast and a switch hitter, although the Minneapolis Star-Tribune suggests that he may not be able to handle shortstop defensively, and may have to be a second baseman.
