With Adrian Gonzalez apparently heading to the Red Sox, 16 days short of five years after he was traded to the Padres by the Rangers, I thought it would be interesting (albeit somewhat painful) to look back and what we said at the time here about the deal...
Here's my initial, quick hit reaction, which was that the trade was awful.
Here's my longer analysis later in the evening, where I called this "a bad, bad trade."
And that was when I was underrating Gonzalez.
This goes on the short list of the worst trades in Rangers history.
