Per Jamey Newberg, the Rangers have made a couple of moves, shipping righty reliever Edwar Ramirez to the Oakland A's for non-roster infielder Gregorio Petit, and having slid Hernan Iribarren through waivers and outrighted him.
That clears two spots on the 40 man roster, and seems to indicate the team still isn't thrilled about its utility infield options.
Petit has had a cup of coffee with the A's the past two seasons, and has played shortstop, second base and third base in the minors, with the bulk of his time being at shortstop. He would appear to be now in competition with Joaquin Arias for the Rangers' UIF job.
