The optimist would say this is a good time for the Rangers to be facing the Red Sox, because they've been in a tail spin of late, losing five in a row, and are not playing well.
The pessimist would say this is a terrible time for the Rangers to be facing the Red Sox, because they've been in a tail spin of late, losing five in a row, and are therefore due to go on a hot streak.
Jeff Wilson has the latest on Ian Kinsler's situation, with Kinsler set to test the ankle out today...if things go well, he should hopefully go on a rehab assignment soon thereafter.
Evan Grant writes about the Rangers start this year, compared to last year...the 2009 Rangers also started off 5-7, despite a three game sweep to start the season, although Grant is less optimistic about this year's club, now projecting a .500 record for the Rangers for 2010. A .500 record would, I suspect, result in wholesale changes in the front office and the Rangers having a new manager in 2011, if not before.
Grant also has a story on the leadoff situation, with Elvis Andrus apparently set to replace Julio Borbon at the top of the lineup for the immediate future.
Richard Durrett has some notes this morning, as to things to be looking for today against the Red Sox.
