Jeff Wilson writes that Neftali Feliz's problems in the 9th stemmed not just from a lack of velocity, but from poor location, leaving 94-95 mph fastballs up in the zone, which allowed Miguel Cabrera and Brandon Inge to tee off.
Evan Grant's post-game notes and comments include criticism of the decision to have Elvis Andrus bunt with two on and none out in the 7th. Bunting with runners on first and second and no one out is almost never a good idea, but doing it down two, with a speedy guy up who has been getting on base? Terrible decision.
The S-T's notes include an item on Andres Blanco, who has started four of the last five games, but who knows that the second base job is Ian Kinsler's when he returns.
Kinsler started a rehab stint in Frisco yesterday, and is expected to be activated on Friday.
Evan Grant says the Rangers have a difficult decision to make when Kinsler returns, since either Joaquin Arias or Andres Blanco is going to have to be dropped from the roster and exposed to waivers. Grant says that Arias is pretty much limited to second base, defensively, which would seem to make the decision pretty easy...if Arias can't play shortstop or third base, he has no role on this club.
