Thursday a.m. Rangers stuff

Jeff Wilson's game story focuses on Michael Young, and the crucial 8th inning hit from last night that got him the team record for hits.

T.R. Sullivan says it is fitting that a clutch hitter like Young got his team record hit in a clutch situation.

Wilson's notes discuss the heavy bullpen use of late, although the Rangers aren't planning on bringing up an extra arm from the minors at this point.

Sullivan writes that the Rangers don't seem worried about Tommy Hunter, who left the game with a hip injury that he incurred on a pickoff throw.  Hunter thinks he will make his next start.

Sullivan's notes talk about Dustin Nippert's spot start tomorrow, and Nelson Cruz's rehab assignment which is starting on Friday.

And Joey Matches analyzes Roy Oswalt's value relative to his contract, and determines that the financial obligation remaining for Oswalt is going to significantly decrease the return the Astros can expect to get for him.
