Tuesday a.m. Rangers stuff

What a game last night.  And I say that in something less than a good way...a win is a win, but the first 12 or so innings of that game were maddening, frustrating, irritating, just quite ridiculous.

And yet, after all that, the Rangers won, the team is now 5 games up on the Angels, and Texas has clinched a winning road trip.

Jeff Wilson says that, while Nelson Cruz had the big hit last night, Matt Harrison was the guy who put the Rangers in position to win, soaking up innings and keeping Texas in the game until the offense could get another run or two on the board.

In T.R. Sullivan's game story, Ian Kinsler compares the game to the movie "300."

There was a very scary moment yesterday, when Dustin Nippert got hit in the head by a line drive back through the middle, but Nippert is apparently okay, and will be day-to-day.  I wouldn't be surprised, though, if he ends up going to the disabled list, with Pedro Strop getting recalled, so that the Rangers have a fresh arm in the pen today.

Speaking of the bullpen, Jeff Wilson's notes talk about the decision to move Tanner Scheppers back to the bullpen in AAA, along with talking about Bengie Molina being named player of the week and Nelson Cruz running on empty prior to the All Star Break.

Sullivan's notes talk about Scheppers, Darren O'Day's approach, and Ron Washington being ejected, among other things.

And Barry Shlachter has a story up about today's hearing in bankruptcy court.
