In some ways, this loss almost feels inconsequential. Maybe that's because I didn't see most of it. Maybe it's because the Rangers winning five games on this road trip, and the news that the Angels had already lost eariler in the day, had already made the game feel like a victory regardless of outcome. The issue is, of course, it is consequential. And six wins on this road trip with a six game division lead would have been superb.
That's the problem with exceeding expectations before the job is even finished.
