The Rangers have lost four out of five and five out of seven, but still are 3.5 games up on Anaheim, who got beat up on yesterday by the ChiSox after losing 2 of 3 at home to Kansas City last weekend.

Anthony Andro's game story says it was a day where basically nothing went right for the Rangers.

T.R. Sullivan leads off his game story by saying that, even though Rich Harden has been a disappointment this year, he was giving the Rangers more than what they've been getting from his replacements since he went on the disabled list.

The S-T's notes say the Rangers aren't worried about their recent problems scoring runs.

Sullivan has a plethora of notes up, including the news that the Rangers are planning on pretty much passing on big international signings this year, and an update on Derek Holland and Rich Harden, who the Rangers hope to have back between the All Star Break and the trade deadline.

Jennifer Floyd Engel wants the Rangers to trade prospects to make a run for this year, and in particular, wants Justin Smoak dealt because, as she says, Chris Davis can probably hit .205 for the Rangers just like Smoak is.

The Rangers have proposed that the team be auctioned off on July 16, with the bankruptcy judge approving, on July 22, the highest bidder approved by MLB.  Obviously, it is anticipated that MLB will simply not approve anyone other than Greenberg/Ryan.

Maury Brown has a lengthy story up analyzing the implications of this move.
