Per Jon Paul Morosi, the Detroit Tigers have designated Armando Galarraga for assignment.
My initial reaction was that, given that the Rangers starting pitching depth is looking a little shallow, and Galarraga would be a serviceable #5 guy, shouldn't the Rangers be inquiring about him?
The cost would probably not be any more than what the Tigers gave up to get him in the first place -- outfielder Michael Hernandez, whom the Rangers promptly released that spring.
Galarraga is out of options, and he's not going to be real cheap, dollar-wise, but you could do worse than him to round out your rotation.
