Thursday Morning Rangers Things

The big news from last night: the DMN reports that Mike Maddux has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Cubs managerial position.  Evan Grant blogs that sources indicate the Cubs have offered the position to Dale Sveum.

Jeff Wilson writes that the Astros will join the AL West in 2013 as a condition of sale to new owner Jim Crane.  No word on whether the additional games will cause the Silver Boot to expand to include a belt buckle and/or bolo tie.

Wilson also visits the annual "Should Feliz become a starter, and if so who is the closer?!" topic and mentions the possible relief options the Rangers could acquire.

The Rangers website has a story from TR Sullivan and Carrie Muskat about Nolan Ryan reiterating the Rangers desire to keep C.J. Wilson.

Anthony Andro writes about the first base options for 2012, including Casey Kotchman as his "Hey why not?" option.

Finally, Richard Durrett's Dazzling Dozen series hits number 7 and Nelson Cruz and his amazing throw to get Miguel Cabrera at the plate in game 5 the ALCS.
