Happy birthday to SB Nation, which turns 8 years old today...it was 8 years ago today that Athletics Nation kicked off.
Athletics Nation was the first SBN site...there are now over 300 blogs, plus there's The Verge, which is, along with the SBN sites, under the Vox Media umbrella.
Lone Star Ball was one of the early blogs...while we weren't one of the "Original Six" that kicked off in early 2005 when SBN expanded beyond Athletic's Nation, we did launch in April, 2005, when the number of sites was still in the teens, I believe.
Sidenote -- The lack of an NBA season right now means fewer actress pictures to look at and include in these sorts of posts, because so many of those shots came from NBA games with famous people sitting courtside.
