Tuesday Morning Rangers Update

That was actually a pretty slow day of Winter Meetings. Here is what the Rangers got up to:

Nothing.

Anthony Andro writes that the Rangers might continue to do nothing as they feel they don't have to make a move just to make a move.

Jeff Wilson thinks the Rangers are still pursuing Mark Buehrle and C.J. Wilson but that they aren't in a hurry to make a deal.

Jerry Crasnick writes that the Rangers are preparing to make an offer to Wilson as soon as today and runs down Wilson's market after the first day of the meetings.

Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi co-wrote an update on where things stand with C.J. at the moment. Word came down late last night that the Angels have perhaps emerged as the favorite to sign Wilson. Say it ain't so!

Drew Davison has some notes about the Rangers looking to improve the bullpen with Darren Oliver perhaps closest to returning to the team.

T.R. Sullivan also has some notes and writes about the Rangers looking into acquiring a utility infielder.

Gil Lebreton thinks the Rangers ought to explore options at first base other than Mitch Moreland.

Evan Grant has a piece behind the paywall about how the Rangers can look to the early '90s Braves as an example on how to overcome consecutive World Series losses.

Finally, Jon Heyman reported that the Marlins offered Albert Pujols a ten-year contract because every free agent is going to be a Marlin.
