Randy Galloway has a lengthy column up on Chuck Greenberg being booted from the Texas Rangers, just months after the ownership group he and Nolan Ryan headed up bought the club.
It is worth a read, talking about how one of the criticisms of Ryan has been he's too patient and has too long of a fuse -- Galloway says that Ryan's "baseball people" wanted and expected Jon Daniels and Ron Washington gone a long time ago, but Ryan was patient and determined that they were the right guys for the jobs they held. That makes the quick trigger here a lot more out of character.
Galloway also makes it clear that the money guys were put out with Greenberg, but that Ryan could have held them at bay if he wished. He, apparently, did not wish to do so.
Anyway, read the whole thing.
