Monday a.m. Rangers stuff

Rough outing yesterday for Tommy Hunter, as he gave up 7 runs, and the Rangers fell to the San Francisco GiantsEvan Grant has the recap.

Despite Hunter's struggles this spring, I'd be very surprised if he doesn't make the Opening Day rotation.  Yes, Ron Washington said that there were only two locks for the rotation (C.J. Wilson and Colby Lewis), but Hunter has spent the majority of the past two seasons in the rotation for the Rangers and has done well.  If it is late March and Hunter just seems so out of whack that he can't get hitters out, that would be one thing...but I don't think he's going to start the season in AAA or in the bullpen just because he's been outpitched so far by Derek Holland, Michael Kirkman, and Matt Harrison this spring.

The S-T's notes include a Q&A with John Rhadigan.

Brandon Webb has confirmed what I think we all already knew -- he won't be ready for Opening Day.

Anthony Andro has a story on Taylor Teagarden, who will likely start the season in AAA as the team's insurance, should something happen to Yorvit Torrealba or Matt Treanor.

Grant says Chuck Greenberg was the right person to lead the effort to buy the Rangers, but not the right person to run the Rangers.
