T.R. Sullivan and Richard Durrett each have stories up regarding the Neftali Feliz situation. The Texas Rangers' brass met today for about 90 minutes -- Sullivan says that those present included Jon Daniels, Ron Washington, Nolan Ryan, Mike Maddux, and Andy Hawkins, although it sounds like those weren't the only ones there -- and no decision has been made about whether Feliz will be in the rotation or the bullpen come Opening Day.
Sullivan suggests that the Rangers want Feliz in the rotation at some point, and the question is simply, does he make the jump now, or does he make the jump at some point after 2011?
What makes this more complicated, obviously, is the fact that Matt Harrison, Michael Kirkman, and Derek Holland have all impressed so far this spring, while Mark Lowe -- the primary closer candidate if Feliz goes to the rotation -- and Darren O'Day have been terrible so far. The poor pen makes it that much harder to absorb the loss of Feliz from the bullpen.
We shall see how this plays out...
