Forbes has come out with their annual franchise valuation rankings, and the newly-sold Rangers check in as the eighth most valuable team, right behind the San Francisco Giants and right ahead of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
I do think this is skewed a little by the Rangers price being inflated, having just been sold -- I'd wager that if the Angels or ChiSox (#10 on the list) were sold, they'd fetch north of $600 million, which would put them ahead of both Texas and San Fran -- but it is nonetheless interesting to see Texas in the top third.
