Wednesday morning Rangers things

I have nothing to say about yesterday's game.  At least, yesterday's Ranger game.  Yesterday's Frisco game featured a perfect game by Martin Perez (albeit a weather-shortened five inning perfect game).  Yesterday's Round Rock game featured another sterling Neil Ramirez performance.  And Mike Olt went 2 for 4 for Myrtle Beach.

I'll think about those games, instead.

Jeff Wilson's game story about the game I have nothing to say about is here.  T.R. Sullivan's is here.

Wilson writes that Tommy Hunter won't necessarily have a job waiting for him when he's ready to be activated from the disabled list.  The one starter whose performance hasn't been up to snuff this year has been Colby Lewis, whose fastball velocity is in the 80s and whose command has been off.  If Lewis doesn't show improve going forward, he'd be the guy you'd have to think would be in danger of losing his rotation spot.

Evan Grant has a piece behind the DMN paywall about Lewis's struggles.

The S-T's notes talk about Pedro Strop's opportunity to seize a setup role, Julio Borbon working on his bunting, and Perez's perfect game.

Sullivan's notes include discussion of Mason Tobin leaving the game yesterday with elbow pain (and likely headed to the d.l.), among much else.
