Per Jeff Wilson on Twitter, Taylor Teagarden has been recalled, and Ryan Tucker has been sent to AAA.

Ron Washington lamented not using a pinch hitter for Yorvit Torrealba last night, and with Mike Napoli at DH, Wash couldn't really remove Torrealba for a pinch hitter without losing his DH.  This solves that problem.

With Nelson Cruz scheduled to come back tomorrow or Saturday, it will be interesting to see if Chris Davis ends up getting sent back to AAA, or if Endy Chavez or Craig Gentry get dropped instead.

Another move will be coming when Josh Hamilton is activated from the disabled list, which is expected to happen next week.  Teagarden could be a roster casualty then, or one of the Davis/Chavez/Gentry trio could be dropped at that point.

UPDATE -- Richard Durrett confirms that Ryan Tucker had options remaining and has been optioned to make room on the 25 man roster for Teagarden.  This makes it more baffling that Pedro Strop was sent down a couple of weeks ago...part of the justification, I thought, for sending down Strop instead of Tucker was that Strop could be optioned and Tucker would have to clear waivers.

Also, having the third catcher is more of a necessity with the National League rules being in play this weekend, because the Rangers are going to want to be able to use Mike Napoli as a pinch hitter if he isn't starting.  You can't (or aren't likely to) use Napoli as a pinch hitter for the pitcher if he's also the only backup catcher.
