Sunday a.m. Rangers stuff

Ten in a row.  54-41, and a 3 game lead in the A.L. West.  Last year, after 95 games, the Rangers were 55-40, and had a 5 game lead in the West.  Texas is playing at basically the same pace as the 2010 Rangers.  You know, the team that went to the World Series.

And...Elvis Andrus.  He's awesome.

Jeff Wilson's game story says that it was a happy team in the Rangers clubhouse after the game.

T.R. Sullivan's game story talks about the "October" vibe in the Ranger clubhouse post-game, and C.J. Wilson's disappointment in allowing a run.

Richard Durrett has his post-game reactions up at the ESPN Dallas blog.

Evan Grant writes that Ian Kinsler has started hitting well on the road since Scott Coolbaugh took over as hitting coach.

Sullivan's notes include talk on the Rangers' pursuit of relief help, and mentions that the A's want Martin Perez, Chris Davis, and another prospect for Andrew Bailey.  I'm sure that this will prompt a great hue and cry about how unreasonable Oakland is, but Bailey is very good, he's cheap (making close to the league minimum this year), and won't become a free agent until after the 2014 season.  The cost for Bailey will be -- and should be -- high.

The S-T's notes include stuff on the contributions of the catchers to the Ranger pitchers' scoreless streak, Ian Kinsler wanting to see his batting average go up, and the Ranger rotation for the coming week.

Wilson has a story on the breakout 2011 season of Matt Harrison, who pitches for Texas today.

Irving native and former Ranger prospect Blake Beavan takes the hill for the Mariners today.
