A week before the trade deadline, and the Rangers are 4 games up on Anaheim in the A.L. West, gaining a game when the Angels lost to Baltimore last night, and Texas earned a walkoff 5-4 victory against Toronto.

Drew Davison's game story focuses on the bottom of the 9th, when Texas, down 4-3, had a walk/bunt/bunt/bunt/intentional walk sequence to set up Michael Young's walkoff hit.

Richard Durrett breaks down the 9th inning at ESPN Dallas.

Louie Horvath has his game story up at the Rangers' website.

Davison suggests that the loss of Adrian Beltre, on the disabled list with a hamstring strain, could be more difficult to overcome than the loss of Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz earlier this season.

Anthony Andro has a piece on Fox Sports Southwest about Davis's opportunity to step up and fill in for Beltre.

In the Rangers' website notes, Chris Davis talks about knowing he's a major league hitter, and there's stuff on Scott Feldman and Nelson Cruz.

Jim Reeves has a column on the career of Bert Blyleven, who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Phil Rogers, talking about deadline deals, says that the Rangers' front office is the best "to read and react."

Troy Renck of the Denver Post writes that the Rangers are interested in Ubaldo Jimenez, but view him as a #2 starter, and thus aren't willing to pay the ace-level price the Rockies are seeking.
