61-48 - Rangers punt series in Toronto, lose

Other good news: He's not a Mariner
Other good news: He's not a Mariner

That game was pretty atrocious and I'm kind of curious about the seeming lack of desire to win games in this series with the Split Squad lineups. But, there's good news to go along with the bad news.

Let's look at the bad news first:

  • The Rangers lost a series against Toronto at Rogers Centre again and the field turf injured like half of the starting lineup.
  • C.J. was terrible. Again.

The good news:

  • The Rangers have acquired Mike Adams from the Padres for Robbie Erlin and Joe Weiland.
  • With the addition of Adams and the acquisition of Koji Uehara, the Rangers acquired the top set up men from both leagues that were available and possibly the top 2 or 3 set up men in all of baseball from each league. The bullpen just went from perhaps the only truly visible weakness to a strength in about 24 hours.
  • The Angels also lost today and were four outs away from getting no-hit. Also, Jered Weaver was tossed from a game for throwing at someone's head and could be looking at a suspension.
  • The Angels did nothing.
