Sunday morning Rangers things

New, comments

Two lopsided victories, and now the Rangers are looking to sweep the A's in Oakland today.  Regardless of what happens today, the Rangers will be at least two games up on the Angels when they go to Anaheim for the four game set.

Jeff Wilson's game story says that, despite the blowout score, it took key pitches from Colby Lewis early, and a big play from Josh Hamilton late, to keep the Rangers in position to win.

T.R. Sullivan's game story focuses on Josh Hamilton, whose feet and glove were big parts of the victory.

The S-T's notes talk about Matt Harrison and double plays, Craig Gentry likely not starting again until next weekend, and the performance by the Rangers' catchers.

Sullivan's notes talk about Harrison, Mark Lowe's slider, and Michael Young's thoughts on Dan Uggla's hitting streak.

Drew Davison has a piece on Robbie Ross, who has earned a promotion to Frisco with his strong first half at high-A Myrtle Beach.

Ron Washington says that this team's defining characteristic is their resiliency.
