Per Jon Paul Morosi, the Tigers have acquired Delmon Young from the Minnesota Twins.
The Tigers have reportedly parted with lefthander Cole Nelson and a player to be named later to acquire Young. Nelson was a 10th round draft pick of the Tigers last season, and is 22 and not doing much in the Florida State League. He is a Minnesota native, for what it is worth.
Young, the former #1 overall pick in the draft, has never lived up to the expectations generated by that lofty selection. He was originally a Tampa Bay Devil Ray, but was dealt to Minnesota in the deal that brought Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett to Tampa.
