Well, things are getting interesting in the A.L. West.  With the Rangers' loss and the Angels' victory last night, Texas is now just 2 1/2 games up on Anaheim.

Jeff Wilson's game story looks at a game where nothing went right for the Rangers.

T.R. Sullivan's game story quotes Matt Harrison as saying he had a "terrible performance" yesterday.

Richard Durrett notes that Matt Harrison is struggling against lefthanded hitters of late.

Wilson writes that the Rangers are trying to focus on what they are doing, and not on the standings.

Nolan Ryan says he's confident that Texas will bounce back and get back on track, despite this recent spate of poor performances.

The S-T's notes talk about Adrian Beltre's timetable for a rehab assignment, Nelson Cruz getting a day off, and the return of Darren O'Day.  O'Day's first outing since his recall could have gone better, though.

Sullivan's notes talk about Cruz, C.J. Wilson's pending free agency, and the DH situation now that Taylor Teagarden has been sent back to AAA.
