Saturday a.m. Rangers stuff

New, comments

That was interesting.  After three disastrous games against the Red Sox, we saw a complete turnaround last night (the late game bullpen issues notwithstanding).  It never ceases to amaze me, how much more fun baseball is when your team is playing well.

Jeff Wilson's game story talks about the Rangers riding strong starting pitching, good defense, and a big night from the bats to a win.

Richard Durrett has his reactions to last night's win.

T.R. Sullivan's game story looks at how Nelson Cruz and David Murphy, both struggling of late (with Cruz being dropped to 7th in the order), came up big last night, driving in 10 of the team's 11 runs.

Anthony Andro has his game story up at Fox Sports Southwest.

Durrett has a story at ESPN Dallas about how Ron Washington has maintained an even keel, not hitting the panic button despite the team's recent struggles.

The Angels have decided to use Ervin Santana and Jered Weaver on three days rest this weekend, and Weaver doesn't understand why people are making a big deal about it.  However, neither pitcher has gone on three days rest in the regular season before, so it remains to be seen how they'll react.

Drew Davison has a story on Josh Hamilton and his comments before yesterday's game, where he's lamented he's not been as productive this season as he can be, saying that he's focused more on making contact than doing "damage."

Sullivan's notes talk about Adrian Beltre starting a rehab assignment on Monday and Andres Blanco continuing to have issues with his back.

The S-T's notes touches on Adrian Beltre's hamstring and Scott Coolbaugh's thoughts on the team's recent offensive slump.
