Incredibly disappointing game yesterday, made even more disappointing by the Yankees flopping against the Angels and losing 6-0.  That drops the lead in the A.L. West down to 1.5 games.

Jeff Wilson says in his game story that Ron Washington felt good about his pitching matchups in the sixth inning, with Mike Gonzalez coming in to face the lefty-heavy lineup, and Yoshinori Tateyama available if the A's decided to bring up a righthanded pinch hitter.  It all went to plan until the pinch hitter, Scott Sizemore, hit a grand slam off of Tateyama.

T.R. Sullivan's game story talks about how the Rangers, with four losses in their last seven games, are struggling to shake Anaheim.

Anthony Andro has quotes from Yoshinori Tateyama in his story from yesterday's game, with Tateyama saying that his control is not good right now.

Jeff Caplan has his reactions to yesterday's game at the ESPN Dallas blog.

The S-T's notes talk about Adrian Beltre feeling like he's getting into a groove, Josh Hamilton returning to the team yesterday after missing Friday's game to be at the birth of his daughter, and injury updates.

Caplan writes that there were encouraging signs from Mitch Moreland and Adrian Beltre in the loss yesterday.

Wilson writes that Matt Treanor is happy to have been added to the Rangers' roster for the last month of the season.
