News is coming in via the Twittersphere on the ALDS schedule and who we know will and won't be on the Rangers' roster...
We already knew that tomorrow's Game 1 will be at 4:07 p.m. Central. We've now learned from MLB that Game 2, on Saturday, will be at 6:07 p.m. Central, and Game 3, on Monday, will be at 4:07 p.m. Central.
Tampa/Texas doesn't get the sucky lunch time starts this year, I'm guessing, because Arizona/Milwaukee is one of the NLDS matchups and nobody cares about them. How irrelevant does MLB find that pairing? They are actually letting Joe West be the crew chief for that series.
Meanwhile, Esteban German has been informed he will be on the playoff roster, replacing Andres Blanco as the team's utility infielder.
Michael Kirkman and Mark Hamburger have been sent to the instructional league in Surprise, Arizona, to work out at the Rangers' facility and keep sharp so that they can be available if they are needed in a later round, or because someone is injured in the ALDS. However, neither will be on the ALDS roster to start with.
That seemingly leaves Scott Feldman, Darren O'Day, Yoshinori Tateyama, and Matt Treanor battling for the final two roster spots.
