Ranger minor league first baseman Chris McGuiness has been named the Arizona Fall League co-player of the week, sharing the honors with Houston Astros prospect Jonathan Singleton.
McGuiness was 7 for 16 with a pair of home runs in the first week of AFL action, and is currently sporting a 1078 OPS.
McGuiness, acquired from Boston as part of the Jarrod Saltalamacchia trade, is a 24 year old lefthanded first baseman who spent the 2012 season with Frisco, putting up a .268/.366/.474 line.
