Friday morning Rangers news and links

Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE

The Cardinals making the World Series again would make the Rangers not advancing that much more frustrating, for me.

There's a story at the Rangers' website about Luis Sardinas and Chris McGuiness, two of the Rangers' representatives in the Arizona Fall League.

Richard Durrett asks if the Rangers should consider trading Elvis Andrus or Nelson Cruz this offseason.

There are conflicting reports out of Japan regarding Shohei Otani, the teenage pitcher who the Rangers have an interest in, with one report saying he's decided to come to the United States, and another report saying he's decided to stay in Japan.

And in case you are troubled by the Rangers' failure this offseason, won't you please take a minute to feel sorry for the poor Yankees fans? As the New York Times points out:

October failures have become all too familiar to the Yankees and their fans. Even with a team payroll that is far larger than any other franchise’s, they have now failed to win a championship in 11 of the last 12 seasons and they have been to the World Series in only three of those seasons. In addition, they have become the personal punching bag of the Tigers, who have ousted them from the playoffs three times in the past seven years.

How sad.
