Four years ago today, the Rangers announced the hirings of Dave Anderson and Jackie Moore

Four years ago today, it was announced that Jackie Moore would be joining the Rangers' coaching staff as bench coach, and Dave Anderson would be joining the staff as third base coach.

Moore replaced Art Howe, who had worked with Ron Washington in Oakland, and Anderson replaced Matt Walbeck, who had been a well-regarded coach in the Tigers' minor league system, and who was viewed by some (including me) as a potential "manager-in-waiting" during the 2008 season.

I also mention in that post that "someone" appeared to really be interested in Mike Maddux as pitching coach, since the Rangers were still waiting to talk to him. We know how that turned out...
