May the World Series end swiftly and without incident so we can get back to baseball.
Today we have a couple of articles about the catching situation and some chat stuff from the DMN.
Richard Durrett continues his "Texas Ten" series by pondering who might don the tools of ignorance for the Rangers come Opening Day 2013. Durrett looks back on the disappointing season behind the dish in 2012 and throws out a few names such as Kelly Shoppach, J.P. Arencibia, A.J. Pierzynski, and Brian McCann as potential targets for the Rangers should they not re-sign Mike Napoli.
T.R. Sullivan also writes about the catcher opening. Sullivan notes that the Blue Jays claimed Bobby Wilson off waivers from the Angels which could signal that either Arencibia or prospect Travis d'Arnaud are available and that the Rangers will likely inquire on each if so.
Here's hoping we never see another month where Geovany Soto is the primary catcher.
Rick Gosselin had a chat over at the DMN and answered questions on a couple of Rangers topics. Namely, what the Rangers will do with Elvis Andrus and Ian Kinsler with Jurickson Profar waiting in the wings and what impact he believes Dave Magadan will have on the lineup.
Lastly, Evan Grant was on SportsDay On Air to answer a couple of questions about Magadan and what kind of relationship Magadan would potentially have with Josh Hamilton.
