Longtime Texas Rangers radio announcer Eric Nadel has been named one of ten finalists for the 2013 Ford C. Frick Award. Nadel has been with the Rangers since 1979, and has been their radio voice since the 1982 season.

The Ford Frick Award is given out annually by the Baseball Hall of Fame to honor a longtime baseball broadcaster.

The ten finalists were winnowed down from a list of 41 nominees. Among that group of 41 were Mark Holtz, Nadel's long-time partner on WBAP, and Tom Grieve, the current color analyst for the Rangers' television broadcasts.

The winner of the 2013 Ford C. Frick Award will be announced on December 4, 2012.
