One year ago today, we poured one out on the curb for former Ranger second round draft choice Johnny Whittleman, who was drafted out of high school in the hopes that he could be a power-hitting third baseman, but who ultimately turned into a light-hitting first baseman.
Whittleman, of course, was struck by the "Rangers 2nd round draft pick curse" (watch your back, Robbie Ross!), and was, again of course, shipped off to the Island of Misfit Former Rangers, a/k/a the Kansas City Royals.
