Richard Durrett just tweeted about the Dave Barnett situation:
#Rangers television announcer Dave Barnett to miss last 2 games of SD series to undergo evaluation after issues last night.
— Richard Durrett (@espn_durrett) June 19, 2012
The "issues" referred to by Durrett occurred in the 8th inning when Barnett, the Rangers' television play-by-play man, began talking about things that didn't make sense, such as a runner on "fifth base" and Mike Adams believing a robbery had occurred. The full run down, with audio, is available at BBTiA.
The word from earlier today was that Barnett was stricken with a migraine during that incident, and he's apparently being evaluated today for related issues.
Here's hoping that this is nothing too serious for Barnett, and that he's back in the booth with Tom Grieve once the Rangers return home for their weekend series against the Colorado Rockies, which will be kicking off in Arlington this Friday.
The full release from the Rangers is available here. Steve Busby will fill in for Barnett on the TV side the next two days. Bryan Dolgin will replace Busby on the radio side.
