Earlier this week, Josh Hamilton indicated his recent struggles at the plate were the result of "consequences" from God because Hamilton was being "disobedient."

This led to rampant speculation about what it was that Hamilton was being punished for, with many people suggesting that Hamilton was/would be getting divorced.

Well, now we know what the issue is...Hamilton says that the "disobedience" is that he started using chewing tobacco again.

So everyone can calm down. Hamilton isn't getting divorced. None of the other scurrilous, seamy suggestions that have been offered have any basis in reality.

And hopefully, Hamilton will now start hitting again more like he was in April and May, rather than like he was in June and July.
