The Rangers had the day off yesterday but get right back at it against the Cleveland Indians tonight. The A's won their game last night and are three games back of the Rangers. The more important aspect of the A's victory is they beat the Angels who dropped a half game in the Wild Card race.

Behind the DMN paywall, Gerry Fraley writes about Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre being among the leaders in the American League for MVP consideration. Fraley also has a photo essay where he ranks the pros and cons for his current top five American League MVP contenders.
