Ben Badler of Baseball America reports that the Rangers have signed 16 year old Juremi Profar out of Curacao. If the name "Profar" sounds familiar, it might be because you've heard of Jurickson Profar, recently promoted Ranger middle infielder and one of the top prospects in all of baseball. Juremi is the brother of Jurickson, and Badler notes that, like Jurickson, Juremi had some stellar performances in the Little League World Series while playing for Curacao's team.
Badler notes that Profar is expected to join Dominican shortstop Luis Terrero, also signed by the Rangers last week, as part of the organization's Dominican Summer League team in 2013.
While Jurickson Profar was one of the most highly regarded members of his J-2 signing class, Juremi Profar is not, as Badler puts it, as "high-profile." I haven't seen anything on how much his bonus was, but it almost certainly is only a fraction of what Jurickson's bonus was.
