Richard Durrett has a story about the Rangers continuing to talk contract extension with Matt Harrison. Harrison is arbitration eligible this season, and is scheduled to be a free agent after the 2014 season.

Anthony Andro has a story on Ian Kinsler staying at second base, with quotes from Kinsler. Andro says that Kinsler's right ankle, which has bothered him the past couple of seasons, is healthy now.

T.R. Sullivan also has a story on Kinsler staying at second base, and mentions that Kinsler was considering having surgery on his ankle -- which he rolled in 2010, and has been bothering him ever since -- in the middle of last season.

Evan Grant writes that the Rangers are hoping new hitting coach Dave Magadan can help Nelson Cruz improve at the plate.

The S-T has notes up about Kinsler at second base and Lance Berkman hitting third.

Drew Davison has a story in the S-T about fans being unhappy with the Rangers' offseason.

Gil Lebreton has a column on MLB's instituting testing for HGH use.

Tim Cowlishaw has a remarkable column in which he says the events of the last week have him panicking over the state of the 2013 Rangers. Cowlishaw thinks Ian Kinsler makes too many errors to play second base, and thus should go to centerfield, with Jurickson Profar leading off and playing second base, David Murphy hitting third, and Lance Berkman hitting 8th, with Berkman needing to prove he deserves to hit higher before he moves up. Cowlishaw also seems upset that the Rangers signed Berkman instead of making Mike Olt the team's DH.

And on a completely unrelated subject, check out Dan LeBatard's piece today on the pain and physical damage Jason Taylor, the former Dolphins defensive end, played through during his career.
