Elvis, Upton, Seattle, and a poll

Is Elvis Andrus worth what Seattle offered for Justin Upton?

Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE

One of the ongoing storylines of the offseason is the Arizona Diamondbacks' purported desire to move Justin Upton, and the belief by some Rangers fans that an Elvis Andrus for Justin Upton trade would be fair for both teams.

The Diamondbacks, of course, supposedly had an agreement to send Upton to the Seattle Mariners for Taijuan Walker, Nick Franklin, Charlie Furbush, and Stephen Pryor (who, I just learned, was the Rangers' 42nd round draft pick in the 2008 draft).

That is quite the impressive haul. And it made me wonder...if Elvis is equal to (or a little better than) Upton in terms of value, would I, as a Ranger fan, want to see Elvis traded for that package? Walker and Franklin would arguably be the 2nd and 3rd best prospects in the Rangers system,* behind Jurickson Profar, and Furbush would give the Rangers a lefty in the bullpen which would mean they wouldn't be quite so dependent on Robbie Ross and Michael Kirkman. Pryor is a nice power arm who could be an impact reliever.

* I think there's little question Walker would be the 2nd best prospect in the Rangers system -- Franklin could be 3rd, or 4th if you like Mike Olt better than Franklin, or potentially fifth or sixth depending on your thoughts on Martin Perez, Lewis Brinson, and Jorge Alfaro.

So here's the question...if the Rangers could trade Elvis Andrus today to the Mariners for Walker, Franklin, Furbush and Pryor, would you want them to do it?
