Four years ago today, we learned that the Rangers were pursuing Omar Vizquel to be the team's backup infielder, and potentially start at shortstop if it was determined that Elvis Andrus wasn't ready.

How dull is this point of the offseason? This rumor about Vizquel generated over 200 comments four years ago. Now, it was in the midst of the first Michael Young trade demand drama, so there was that influencing the discussion, but still...

Vizquel, of course, got signed, Elvis was ready, Vizquel was a decent utility infielder, the Rangers won a lot of games, and everyone lived happily ever after...
