Kevin Towers, one-time future Ranger g.m.

In the aftermath of the Justin Upton trade, and the offseason of the Diamondbacks which has generated negative reviews, I thought I'd link back to this post from a little over three years ago...

This was during a period of time when Dennis Gilbert was being viewed by some as the favorite to end up buying the Rangers from Tom Hicks, with Kevin Towers believed to be someone Gilbert would bring in if he took over the Rangers.

I guess we're all glad that didn't happen, huh?

Also some interesting discussion in the comments about the direction of the team, how safe Jon Daniels' job was at the time, how good Jerry Jones was at running the Cowboys, etc.
