This morning...
This morning is the morning of Jeff Baker.
Drew Davison has a story on the Rangers signing Jeff Baker to a minor league deal with an invite to major league camp, as well as pitcher Nate Robertson, who we learned was being signed a few days ago.
Anthony Andro also has a story about the Rangers signing Baker and Robertson. His story includes a picture of the Fox Sports Southwest girls.
Richard Durrett also has a story about the Rangers signing Baker and Robertson.
Evan Grant has a blog post about the Rangers signing Baker and Robertson.
Jeff Sullivan has a post up at FanGraphs about former Ranger catcher Rod Barajas, who the stats say threw out 6 of 99 baserunners who tried to steal on him last season. Sullivan giffed and examined the six caught stealings, and discovered something rather surprising as a result.
And finally, Bob Greene writes at CNN that all these stats and numbers are detracting from fans' enjoyment of sports, that it turns poetry into bookkeeping, gets in the way of appreciating the beauty of the game.
So there, ya bunch of nerds.
