Eric Nadel is a finalist for the Ford C. Frick Award

Jim McIsaac

Longtime voice of the Rangers Eric Nadel is one of 10 finalists for the Ford C. Frick Award.

You can read more about the Ford C. Frick Award here.  The Baseball Hall of Fame notes that it is presented annually to a broadcaster for major contributions to baseball.

Nadel has been with the Rangers for the last 35 years, and hopefully, will be the second former Ranger radio broadcaster to be inducted -- Jon Miller, who is shown in the photo above being inducted as the 2010 Ford C. Frick Award winner, did radio broadcasts for the Rangers in 1978-79.

The other nine finalists are Joe Castiglione, Jacques Doucet, Hawk Harreslon, Bill King, Duane Kuiper, Eduardo Ortega, Mike Shannon, Dewayne Staats and Pete van Wieren.
