The finalists for the Rawlings Gold Glove award have been announced, and Adrian Beltre is among the three finalists for the A.L. Gold Glove Award at third base.
Beltre, Evan Longoria, and Manny Machado are the final three at third base in the A.L.
I was mildly surprised to see that Elvis Andrus wasn't a finalist at shortstop. Instead, J.J. Hardy, Yunel Escobar, and Alcides Escobar are the three finalists. Elvis's defensive reputation is very good, and while he is just sixth in the A.L. in UZR/150 among shortstops, he is second in DRS, and I thought he would at least crack the final three.
Had Craig Gentry gotten more playing time, he would have had a good shot at being a finalist, as well...he was 8th among A.L. OFers in DRS despite having just 647 innings in the field, 5th among A.L. OFers in UZR, and 1st among A.L. OFers with at least 500 innings in UZR/150.
Leonys Martin, interestingly enough, was 7th in DRS and 12th in UZR/150.
