2013 Community Projections Results: Ian Kinsler

Reviewing the best and worst of the pre-season community projections.

Tom Pennington

.302 / .369 / .500

That's the line Ian Kinsler put up in the first 180 PA before he went on the DL in May. After coming back in June he put up a .266 / .333 / .376 line in 434 PA. Given that the nature of his injury was his ribs/trunk, the massive drop in power from his career numbers makes sense. Of course, given his age and injury history, Ian playing a full season without something physically bothering him seems like the exception rather than the norm.

Here's hoping that Ian has another year or two where he gets lucky with health and is able to put up strong offensive numbers again. As long as the elite bat speed is there, it can happen.

Congratulations to Atticus F for having the lowest score* with his projection. Here is a spreadsheet with how everyone did.
