The St. Louis Cardinals and Jhonny Peralta have agreed to a four year, $52 million deal, per national reporters on Twitter.
Peralta has been a solid shortstop for the past several years, but missed 50 games towards the end of last season after getting suspended because of his involvement with the Biogenesis clinic.
This deal will cover Peralta's age 32-35 seasons.
The Cardinals can either use Peralta to replace Pete Kozma at shortstop, or they can put Peralta at third base to replace David Freese, who was just dealt to Anaheim for Peter Bourjos.
