Justin Germano has been signed by the Texas Rangers to a minor league deal with an invitation to major league camp this spring.
Germano, 31, has a career 5.29 ERA in 324.2 innings over parts of 8 major league seasons. He only appeared in one major league game last year, throwing two innings for the Toronto Blue Jays and allowing two runs.
The Rangers bullpen is fairly crowded right now, so barring multiple injuries or a trade or two before Opening Day, Germano will likely start the season in AAA Round Rock, where he will give the Rangers some additional pitching depth.
