The Texas Rangers have signed Daniel McCutchen, according to Daniel McCutchen, via his Twitter account.
McCutchen, 31, was drafted four times, finally signing as a 13th round pick of the New York Yankees in 2006. He split the 2013 season between AA Bowie and AAA Norfolk in the Orioles' system, putting up a 1.21 ERA in AA and a 4.74 ERA in AAA.
McCutchen has 188.2 major league innings, all with the Pirates (who acquired him, along with Jose Tabata, in the deal that sent Damaso Marte and Xavier Nady to New York), and has a 4.77 ERA and a 5.00 FIP. McCutchen has struggled to miss bats in the majors, despite having quality K rates in the minors, and will likely be in AAA Round Rock as minor league pitching depth.
