Hey, the Angels are also 0-fer this spring!

Ron Matejko rapidly reacted to the Rangers' 9-1 loss to the Colorado Rockies yesterday. According to Matejko, the Rangers haven't won a spring baseball game in their last eight attempts dating back to last year.

Despite the team getting blown out in Scottsdale, Drew Davison writes about Martin Perez having an impressive outing in his first spring start.

Thomas Harding of MLB.com writes that while Perez impressed in his first two innings of spring, No. 5 starter competitor Justin Grimm had a rough outing.

Behind the DMN paywall, Evan Grant also has a piece on round one of the Perez/Grimm Showdown in Surprise going to Perez.

MLB.com's Lyle Spencer touches on the fifth starter battle for the Rangers, as well. Hidden within is perhaps the best news of all, Colby Lewis was tossing a bit off a mound yesterday.

Grant was on Sportsday On Air to talk about Yu Darvish's spring debut which will take place today. Grant compares Darvish's debut this year to the hype surrounding his debut last year and talks about what the Rangers will be looking to get out of Darvish this season innings-wise.

T.R. Sullivan writes that, now that he's solidified himself as a cagey veteran, the garrulous Elvis Andrus is doling out sage words of advice to fresh-faced, timid rookies Jurickson Profar and Leury Garcia.

Speaking of the windy and wizened, Randy Galloway has the latest in a long line of articles on Texas folk hero Lance Berkman.

Gerry Fraley has a blog post up about the clocking ticking on Rule 5 pick Coty Woods and his prospects for being on the roster to begin the season.

Grant amends his roster prediction and Woods is nowhere to be found. Changes made: IN - Jeff Baker and Randy Wells, OUT - Mike Olt and Kyle McClellan.

Jeff Wilson has some notes on Colby Lewis' return to the mound, Berkman's potential Wednesday debut, and Baker getting a look.

Sullivan's Notes cover Berkman's impending appearance, Lewis' outlook, Joe Nathan & Jason Frasor's slow spring program, and various other items.

Lastly, Cliff Lee spoke to the media about Michael Young because they are teammates now and were once teammates before on a different team. Apparently folks on the team were "baffled" by the front office not just letting Young "do his thing," according to Lee.
